GANDERBAL, SEPT 22: In a candid speech during a rally in Ganderbal, Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, publicly acknowledged past mistakes made by politicians and offered an apology for any wrongdoings.
Addressing her supporters, Iltija emphasized that political leaders are human and capable of errors. She expressed her willingness to make amends, stating, “If I’ve done wrong, I apologize,” in a humble tone that resonated with the audience.
Her remarks appeared aimed at fostering reconciliation and rebuilding trust, as she rallied behind Bashir Mir, the candidate for the Bijbehara constituency.
In addition to her apology, Iltija reaffirmed her commitment to working for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir, promising to maintain a close connection with the people of the region. She also made an emotional appeal to the Home Minister to show compassion for the youth of J&K, many of whom, she claimed, are unjustly imprisoned.
“We will work to get them released,” she added, highlighting her focus on advocating for the rights of the youth in the region.
