Jammu,
The academic future of students in Shagan Khari, Banihal, is hanging by a thread as local residents and community leaders take their grievances to the highest levels of the School Education Department.
In a formal representation addressed to Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhry (Director, School Education Jammu) and Shri Gurdev Kumar JKAS (Joint Director), prominent citizen Rajeev Rajput Charak highlighted a crippling shortage of staff that has left local educational institutions struggling to function.
A School Without a Captain
The deputation from Shagan Khari revealed a startling vacancy list that has effectively paralyzed the higher secondary education system in the area. Key missing positions include:
-
Principal: The administrative head post remains unfilled, leaving the institution without leadership.
-
Subject Lecturers: Crucial higher secondary positions for specialized subjects are vacant.
-
Essential Support Staff: The lack of ground staff is further hindering daily operations.
Students Bearing the Brunt
The residents expressed deep concern over the “serious academic difficulties” being faced by the youth of District Ramban. With no lecturers to teach core subjects, students are losing precious instructional time, which community members say is “adversely affecting their overall development” and competitive prospects.
“The students are the future of Banihal, but without teachers, that future is being compromised,” the representation noted, calling for immediate intervention to prevent further academic loss.
Urgent Plea for Intervention
The formal communication urged the Director and Joint Director to personally intervene and expedite the recruitment or transfer of staff to the region. The residents have submitted a detailed “statement of staff requirement,” hoping for a prompt administrative response to restore the educational standards of Shagan Khari.
As the academic session progresses, the eyes of the Ramban community remain on the School Education Department, waiting for the “prompt action” promised by officials to fill these critical gaps.
