The move is seen as a significant boost for the BJP ahead of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

Union Minister and BJP’s J&K Assembly elections in-charge, G. Krishna Reddy, welcomed the new members, calling the event “not just joining but a magic,” which he said highlights BJP’s growing popularity in the region. He expressed confidence that the DSS, known for advocating the interests of Jammu, aligning with the BJP will influence the election results.

BJP Working President Sat Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Engineer Ghulam Ali Khatana, and Media Center In-charge Arun Gupta were also present at the event to greet the DSS leaders.

The new entrants include prominent figures like Rajesh Sharma (Incharge Suchetgarh), Maninder Singh (Secretary Udhampur), Surjeet Kumar Bhagat (Ex-President Municipal Committee Nagri Kathua), Rakesh Kumar Sharma (Kathua), Dhian Singh (Incharge Nagrota), and other key members from various constituencies.

A diverse group of supporters, including academicians, advocates, farmers, youth leaders, local businessmen, and others, also joined the BJP, further strengthening the party’s foothold in the region.
