In a significant move to bolster the security architecture of the Jammu region, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the Udhampur–Reasi Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, held a high-level introductory meeting today with the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, at the Command Headquarters.
The meeting underscores the intensifying cooperation between the Jammu & Kashmir Police and the Indian Army amid evolving security dynamics in the region.

The interaction served as a platform for both high-ranking officers to deliberate on several critical pillars of regional stability:

“The GOC-in-C acknowledged the proactive efforts of the DIG in maintaining law and order and lauded his role in fostering inter-agency cooperation, which remains the backbone of our counter-insurgency framework,” a spokesperson stated.

In a moment of significant military-civilian recognition, the Army Commander felicitated Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma with the prestigious ‘Operation Sindoor Medal’. The award was presented in recognition of the DIG’s distinguished service and his pivotal role in supporting the Army’s mission-critical objectives within the range.
