SRINAGAR, JULY 31: The Director General (DG) of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, R R Swain has approved a retirement gift of 56 lakh rupees for 56 police personnel who are retiring on Wednesday after reaching superannuation or opting for voluntary retirement, in recognition of their dedicated service to the police department.
As per the release, the retirement gift, amounting to ₹1 lakh each, has been sanctioned through PHQ J&K Order No. 2012 of 2024, in favor of one gazetted officer, 39 non-gazetted officers, 09 lower subordinates and 07 followers. These personnel belong to various units and wings of the department.

The sanctioned amount has been disbursed from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and it is sanctioned in favour of officers/officials at the time of his/her retirement and serves as a token of appreciation for his/her services rendered to the department
Notably, during the current year, police headquarters has already sanctioned Rs 11.19 crore as a retirement gift for 1119 police personnel who have retired from their service.
This gesture of appreciation is a testament to the Department’s commitment to acknowledging the contributions of its personnel.
