Jammu, June 28:
The Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Trust has appointed Dr. Satwant Singh Rissam as its new Chairman. The decision was approved by the trust in recognition of his social leadership and long-standing contribution to community welfare.
Dr. Rissam is a media and communications professional, author, heritage conservationist, and blood donation activist. He is also known for his work on Sikh heritage, identity, and public service.
Welcoming the appointment, Trust President Harpreet Singh said the organization is honored to have an intellectual and dedicated member of the Sikh community lead the trust. He expressed confidence that Dr. Rissam’s experience and vision would strengthen the trust’s mission.
Trust Advisor Manjeet Singh said Dr. Rissam’s background in media, heritage conservation, and community activism makes him well-suited for the role.
Accepting the responsibility, Dr. Rissam said he would work sincerely for the welfare of the Sikh community, with a special focus on empowering youth. He also reiterated his commitment to promoting community service, preserving Sikh heritage, and addressing issues affecting young people.
The trust expressed confidence that under Dr. Rissam’s leadership, it will further expand its efforts in community service, heritage awareness, and youth engagement while continuing to uphold the legacy of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
