Jammu, June 4:

Escalating its war against narcotics syndicates under its strict “Zero Tolerance” framework, the Doda Police on Wednesday executed a major asset seizure, attaching a prime residential property valued at approximately ₹52 lakh. The enforcement action was carried out under the stringent legal provisions of Chapter VA of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The asset freeze is tied directly to an ongoing criminal investigation under FIR No. 93/2026, which was registered at the Police Station Doda. The case contains multi-layered charges invoking sections 8, 21, 22, 29, 25, 27A, and 20 of the NDPS Act. According to senior police officials, earlier raids linked to this specific case yielded substantial quantities of illicit narcotic substances, alongside significant cash
proceeds and highly incriminating transactional materials pointing to systemic drug trafficking.

“Doda Police remains relentlessly committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. Stringent legal measures will continue to be deployed not only against individuals orchestrating the narcotics trade but also against the financial infrastructure, properties, and hidden assets that support these illegal networks.” — STATEMENT FROM DODA POLICE MEDIA CELL

The investigation was conducted by SHO Police Station Doda under the close supervision of DySP Hqrs. Doda. A detailed financial investigation revealed that a double-storeyed residential house with basement situated at Sadiqabad, Doda, belonging to Zareena Begum W/o Late Ghulam Ali, had allegedly been acquired from proceeds generated through illegal narcotics trade. The property, assessed at approximately ₹51.91 lakh, has accordingly been attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act pending further proceedings before the Competent Authority.

The attachment has been carried out after establishing a clear nexus between the property and proceeds derived from drug trafficking. The accused persons involved in the case are facing legal proceedings under the NDPS Act, while efforts are also underway to identify and attach additional assets, if any, found to have been acquired through illicit means.

Doda Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and continues to take stringent action not only against those involved in the narcotics trade but also against the assets and financial infrastructure supporting such illegal activities.

The general public is urged to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by sharing information relating to drug trafficking and substance abuse so that collective efforts towards a drug-free society can be further strengthened.
