Jammu, April 20:

In a concerted effort to promote sanitation and civic responsibility, the OBC Morcha Sunderbani team successfully conducted a large-scale cleanliness drive across Ward No. 03 and Ward No. 04 today. The initiative aimed to galvanize community participation and underscore the vital link between hygiene and public health.

Leadership in Action

The program was spearheaded by Sham Mehra, State General Secretary of the OBC Morcha. Addressing the gathering, Mehra emphasized that achieving a “clean and healthy society” is impossible without the proactive cooperation of the general public.

The event saw a significant turnout of prominent leaders and dignitaries, including:

  • Capt Ramesh (Senior BJP Leader)

  • Sukhdev Singh Jamwal (Mandal Pardhan Sunderbani)

  • Pushpinder Chadha (District Incharge, Senior Citizen Cell)

  • Anu Radha Gupta & Chanan Lal Sharma (Mandal Vice Presidents)

Local Safai Karamcharis from the Sunderbani Municipality were also honored and worked alongside party volunteers, showcasing a unified front for the cause.

A Message of Moral Responsibility

Braham Jyot Satti, President of the BJP OBC Morcha Jammu & Kashmir, issued a powerful statement during the drive. He framed cleanliness not merely as a municipal task, but as a core pillar of national progress.

“Cleanliness is directly linked with health, discipline, and social responsibility. It is not only the responsibility of the government; it is a public movement and the moral duty of every citizen.” — Braham Jyot Satti

Satti urged residents to adopt cleanliness as a daily habit, encouraging them to transform their towns and villages into “cleaner and greener” spaces for future generations.

Strengthening Community Bonds

The leaders present lauded the tireless efforts of the municipal workers and volunteers. They noted that these drives serve a dual purpose: physically cleaning the environment and mentally preparing the public to take collective responsibility for their surroundings.

The initiative concluded with a formal pledge. Participants vowed to remain committed to the cause of environmental awareness, ensuring that the momentum generated in Wards 03 and 04 continues throughout the Sunderbani region.
