JK BJP Chief Ravinder Raina

JAMMU, OCT 03: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President, Ravinder Raina, expressed strong confidence on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure an absolute majority in the upcoming Assembly election results on October 8. Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Raina emphasized that the record turnout in all three phases of the elections is an indication of the public’s support for the party across the Union Territory.

“The way people from every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir came out to vote in record numbers, I firmly believe that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party,” Raina said, as reported by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He added that the new government will advance Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of development, peace, and prosperity in the region.

Highlighting the overwhelming voter participation, Raina remarked, “People have shown faith in democracy and Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Vishwas.’”

When asked about the possibility of a Hindu Chief Minister if the BJP wins, Raina refrained from giving a direct answer. “Let’s have some patience till October 8. For us, who becomes the Chief Minister is not the priority at this stage. We are confident that the BJP will emerge with a full majority,” he stated.

Raina attributed the anticipated success to the party’s extensive campaign led by top leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and BJP National President J P Nadda. He expressed optimism that the party’s influence will extend not only in Jammu but also in Kashmir.

When questioned further about whether the BJP is considering a Hindu or Dogra Chief Minister for Jammu and Kashmir, Raina maintained a cautious stance, saying, “Thoda intezar ka maza lijiye (let’s wait till October 8).”

Raina also expressed his gratitude to the security forces, including the police, CRPF, BSF, and SSB, for ensuring a smooth and peaceful election process. He extended thanks to the Election Commission of India, the Chief Electoral Office, and the LG administration for their arrangements. Additionally, he acknowledged the role of NGOs, school children, and other groups in raising voter awareness across the Union Territory.

As the festival of Navratra approaches, Raina extended greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country. He optimistically remarked, “We will celebrate the festival with the grand victory of BJP in J&K polls on October 8.”

Raina avoided commenting on whether the BJP might consider forming alliances if they fall short of a majority, saying, “Let the results come first.”
