Doda

Doda, September 12: The remains of a suspected Pakistani terrorist affiliated with the proscribed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were recovered from the higher reaches of Doda district during a joint operation by security forces on Saturday, officials said.

According to officials, the remains were found in the remote Seojdhar forest, which connects the Bhaderwah valley of Doda with the adjoining areas of Udhampur and Kathua districts.

The recovery was made during a joint operation involving the Army and police, officials said.

Police, in a post on X, said that SOG Doda, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and CRPF retrieved the remains of the Pakistani JeM terrorist, who had earlier been neutralised during a joint operation.

A night-enabled M4 rifle was also recovered from the site, according to the police statement.

The recovery comes as security forces continue operations against terrorist networks and their hideouts in the higher reaches of the Jammu region.

Further details regarding the identity of the deceased terrorist and the earlier operation in which he was neutralised are awaited.
