Poonch, August 25: Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday visited the revered Sain Miran Ziyarat near the Line of Control in Poonch and paid obeisance at the historic shrine.
During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister said he had earlier visited Budha Amarnath Chattani and Nangali Sahib Gurudwara before proceeding to Sain Miran Ziyarat.
Describing Poonch as a true reflection of “Mini India,” Choudhary highlighted the region’s rich tradition of communal harmony, spiritual diversity and peaceful coexistence.
The Deputy Chief Minister said it was his first visit to Sain Miran Shrine and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Sain Miran Baba Darvesh Ghulam Qadir Trust in maintaining the shrine and preserving its spiritual and cultural significance.
He particularly praised the Trust management for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene at the shrine and for undertaking educational and community-oriented initiatives aimed at the welfare and empowerment of the local population.
“I am short of words to express my appreciation for the work being done by the Trust Management,” the Deputy Chief Minister said, commending the trustees for their dedication and commitment to public service.
The visit also highlighted Poonch’s longstanding spirit of peace, brotherhood, inclusivity and shared heritage, with Sain Miran Ziyarat continuing to stand as an important symbol of the region’s composite cultural ethos.
The Trust management expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for visiting the shrine and acknowledging its efforts towards the development, cleanliness, education and welfare of the community.
