SRINAGAR, MAR 15: Several areas in Kashmir will face scheduled power shutdowns in the coming days due to maintenance and upgradation work being carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL).
According to the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL, the commissioning of the Bus Bar protection at the 320 MVA, 220/132 KV, 160 MVA Transformer Bank-I of Grid Station Alusteng will lead to a power outage in Wussan, Safapora, Kangan, Lal Bazar, BAMK, Hazratbal, Ellahibagh, Lar-Tullmulla, Ajar, Aloosa, Gurez, Zakura, Nagbal, and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on March 20, 2025. Similarly, the shutdown of Transformer Bank-II at the same grid station will affect the power supply in these areas from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the same day.
Additionally, in order to replace damaged wooden poles with new ST poles, the 33KV Pattan-Amargarh line will undergo a shutdown, impacting Pattan, Palhalan, Hamray, Zangam, Burn, Nihalpora, and Pattan Hospital from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 17 and 19, 2025.
The 33KV HMT line will also be shut down for maintenance, affecting power supply in Singhpora, Mirgund Diver, SKUAST, SSM College, and nearby areas from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 18 and 20, 2025.
Further, the 33KV Bandipora line will remain off due to the erection of an 11-meter ST pole, impacting power supply in Waltab, Tujjar, and Dooru from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 17 and 19, 2025. Similarly, the 33KV Arampora line shutdown will affect Arampora, Panzipora, Sheer Colony, and Bugoo from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 19, 2025.
For the installation of an 11KV isolator and 13-meter ST pole, the 33KV Achabal-Nowpora tap line will undergo a shutdown, leading to a power outage in Achabal and nearby areas from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 24, 2025.
Moreover, the 33KV Dolipora line will be shut down for stabilization work, affecting Tarathpora, Kalmoona, Vilgam, Magam, Neelipora, Geeripora, and Dolipora from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 17 and 18, 2025. Similarly, the 33KV Gulmarg line shutdown will impact Tangmarg, Gulmarg, and Kulhama from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM on March 19, 2025.
To carry out preventive maintenance and stabilization work, the 33KV Pampore-Lethpora line will be shut down, affecting power supply in Samboora, Lethpora, Patalbagh, Chandhara, Konibal, and Dusoo from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 16, 2025. Additionally, the 33KV LIS Lethpora Tap line will undergo a shutdown, impacting LIS Ladoo-I, II, and III from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on March 18, 20, and 22, 2025.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled shutdowns.
