KATHUA, MAR 11: DIG JKS Range Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) on Tuesday visited Rajbagh and Marheen areas of Kathua district to meet the families of two missing boys, Deenu (15) and Rehmat Ali (12), assuring them that every possible effort would be made to trace their whereabouts.

The boys went missing on February 27, 2025, after they had gone for cattle grazing near Bhamberwan Goat Farm around 11:00 AM but never returned home. Their families later reported the matter to Police Station Rajbagh through a written application in Hindi.

The incident comes just days after three locals were found dead in a deep gorge in the Billawar area, raising concerns among residents.

Following the complaint, a case (FIR No. 51/2025 U/S 137(2) BNS) was registered, and a search operation was launched. Accompanied by DySP Border Dheeraj Katoch and SHO Rajbagh Ajay Chib, DIG Sharma assured the families that police teams were actively working on the case.

He directed the SHO and DySP to coordinate with police units in Punjab, Jammu, and Udhampur to gather possible leads. Special teams have been formed, and photographs of the missing boys are being circulated to aid in their recovery. The investigation is ongoing.
