National Highway Closed

JAMMU, FEB 28: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been closed to vehicular traffic following multiple landslides and incidents of shooting stones at various locations on Friday. The closure has disrupted movement on this crucial route, which serves as the lifeline for the Kashmir Valley.

Officials reported that snow accumulation between Ramsoo and Qazigund, along with landslides and mudslides between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel, have rendered the highway impassable. A large number of vehicles, including trucks, passenger vehicles, and buses, have been halted at Jakhani in Udhampur.

Traffic authorities have urged travelers to avoid unnecessary movement and stay updated on official advisories. Efforts are underway to clear the debris and restore connectivity at the earliest.

Travellers are advised to check for the latest updates before planning their journey.
