JAMMU, FEB 25: In preparation for the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, has outlined comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of devotees across the region. The J&K Police are implementing robust arrangements to maintain peace and order during the festivities in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts.

As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma emphasized the significance of ensuring a peaceful environment for devotees and highlighted the proactive steps taken to prevent any untoward incidents. “We have increased patrolling, deployed additional forces, and are working in coordination with other security agencies to provide foolproof security,” Sharma stated.

Special checkpoints have been established across key routes, complemented by enhanced surveillance systems to monitor the movement of people and vehicles. The DIG urged devotees to cooperate with the police, follow safety guidelines, and report any suspicious activities.

Appealing to the general public, DIG Sharma said, “If you notice any suspicious activities or persons, please inform the police immediately. The J&K Police are always at your service — with you, for you, always.”

The police department has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safe and peaceful Maha Shivratri celebration, calling on citizens to support security efforts for the smooth conduct of the festival.
