JAMMU, FEB 18: The Irrigation Department on Tuesday issued a public warning against dumping trash and waste material into Ranbir Canal, citing environmental damage and disruption to water flow.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the department noted that illegal waste disposal in the canal is obstructing water supply to agricultural lands and harming the ecosystem.
“Any person found violating this directive will face strict legal action under the Jammu & Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation & Management) Act 2010,” the notice stated.
The department has urged the public to cooperate in maintaining a clean irrigation system and ensuring a healthy environment.
