One-Year Extension

SRINAGAR, FEB 14: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved a one-year extension for three IAS officers serving in Jammu and Kashmir. The officers—Akshay Labroo, Athar Aamir, and Basharat Qayoom—will continue their tenure in the Union Territory as per the latest order.

According to official sources, the extension was granted at the request of the J&K administration and approved with a relaxation of existing rules. The DoPT, which functions under Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh, issued the order confirming the extension.

The move is seen as an effort to ensure administrative continuity in Jammu and Kashmir, where these officers have been handling key responsibilities.
