SAMBA, JAN 08: The Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Samba Police on Wednesday successfully refunded Rs. 95,000 to victims of two online financial fraud cases reported by complainants from the district.

As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the victims, identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Roshan Lal, a resident of Sadoh Abtal in Samba district, and Anil Kumar, son of Gouri Shankar, a resident of Kurena, Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Bari Brahmana, Samba, reported the frauds through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The fraudsters had deceived Rajesh Kumar of Rs. 25,000 and Anil Kumar of Rs. 70,000.

A team from the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit, led by an Inspector-rank officer under the supervision of DySP Headquarters and the overall guidance of SSP Samba, used advanced technical expertise and relentless efforts to ensure the recovery and refund of the entire defrauded amount to the complainants.

SSP Samba has urged the public to remain vigilant against cyber fraud. He advised not to share personal credentials online or offline, avoid clicking on suspicious links, and promptly report any dubious online activities to the National Cybercrime Helpline Number 1930 or through the portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in.
