7 Grams of Heroin

JAMMU, JAN 03: In a significant breakthrough under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Friday arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered seven grams of heroin (commonly known as chitta) in Bishnah area of Jammu district.

As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz,  the police team from Bishnah Police Station conducted routine patrolling in the Sikanderpur Kothey area on January 3, 2025. During the patrol, a naka (checkpoint) was established, leading to the apprehension of two suspects. The accused, identified as Showkat Ali alias Shonku, son of Mir Hussain, and Khadim Hussain alias Tudiya, son of Alam Din, both residents of Sikanderpur, Bishnah, were found in possession of the illicit substance during a thorough search.

The accused were taken into custody, and a case was registered against them under FIR No. 02/2025, Sections 8, 21, 22, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act at Bishnah Police Station.
