DODA, JAN 02: In a swift operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Thursday cracked a theft case involving stolen cash from a temple near Government Medical College Ghat, in Doda district within 24 hours of the incident. The stolen money was recovered, and the culprits were apprehended.
As per the statement issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, a complaint was filed on January 1, 2025, by Ajay Kumar, a resident of Ghat Doda, reporting that cash was stolen from the temple after the lock was broken during the night of December 31, 2024. Acting on the complaint, a case (FIR No. 01/2025 under sections 305/331(3)BNS) was registered at Police Station Doda, and an investigation was initiated.
Under the directions of SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), a special police team was formed, led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, SHO PS Doda. The team employed both human intelligence and technical assistance while interrogating multiple suspects.
During questioning, two juveniles (names withheld) confessed to their involvement in the theft. Based on their disclosure, the police recovered ₹13,550 in stolen cash.
