New Govt Colleges Sanctioned

JAMMU, OCT 15: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday sanctioned the establishment of two new Government Degree Colleges in the districts of Jammu and Rajouri. This decision comes as per the Government Order No. 495-HE of 2024 issued by the Higher Education Department.

As per the order, the new colleges will be located in Lamberi in district Rajouri and Aghore in district Jammu), as outlined in the order. The establishment of these institutions is subject to the fulfillment of the conditions laid down by the Finance Department’s order, UO No. FD-Code/420/2021-03-907, dated October 14, 2024.

The Higher Education Department, under the leadership of Commissioner/Secretary Rashmi Singh, IAS, has directed the relevant authorities to proceed with the necessary arrangements. The decision is part of the government’s broader initiative to enhance access to higher education across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
