DODA, SEPT 27: The National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers of Government Degree College (GDC) Doda organized a successful Clean Campus Day on Friday, with the participation of around 60 NSS volunteers and students. This initiative was held in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda under the banner of Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.
The event commenced at 11:00 AM, guided by Dr. Javid Iqbal Zargar, Principal of the College. Students gathered enthusiastically, equipped with masks and gloves, demonstrating their commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
Volunteers focused their efforts on cleaning the lawns in front of the Science Block and the Geography Department. They made a significant impact in the Botanical Department, where they collected litter in large paper boxes for proper disposal. In the Geography Department’s lawn area, they found various items including papers, cups, bottles, and candy wrappers, which were meticulously picked up and disposed of in a designated plastic dustbin.
Dr. Javid Iqbal Zargar expressed gratitude to the management, Nehru Yuva Kendra Doda, NGO Tejas Ek Pahal Foundation Doda, and the NSS volunteers for their invaluable support in making the event a grand success.
The program was also attended by several faculty members, including Prof. Mansa Ram, Ramesh Kumar (Ex-Councillor, MC Doda), Prof. Davinder Kumar (HOD Zoology), Dr. Mir Masood (HOD Botany), Prof. Satish Kumar (HOD Urdu), and other non-teaching staff.
