BISHNAH, SEPT 14: Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah marked Hindi Diwas with a special event organized by the NSS Wing in collaboration with the Department of Hindi, focusing on the theme “Bridging Traditional Knowledge and Artificial Intelligence,” on Saturday. Under the guidance of the college principal, Dr. Shallu Samyal, the event celebrated the significance of Hindi in today’s digital world.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the start of the occasion. Dr. Shallu Samyal extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, faculty, and students in attendance. The event saw active participation, with eight students delivering insightful speeches on the importance of Hindi in the modern era, highlighting its role in bridging traditional knowledge systems with emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. The event was attended by around fifty enthusiastic students.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Saliada, Head of the Department of Hindi, provided a detailed overview of the evolution of the Hindi language, tracing its historical significance and emphasizing its growing relevance in the digital age. He highlighted the adaptability of Hindi in the context of AI and emerging technologies.
The competition, which formed the core of the Hindi Diwas celebrations, was judged by a panel of esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Sapna Bhargav, Dr. Shiv Kumar Khajuria, and Dr. Kusum. The judges awarded the top three prizes for the best speeches. Vijaylaxmi, a third-semester student, secured first place, followed by Tiwali, also from the third semester, who won second place, and Monika, who took third place. Consolation prizes were also given to other participants in recognition of their efforts.
In her address, Dr. Shallu Samyal, Principal of GDC Bishnah, encouraged students to embrace Hindi as it is not only the national language but also a vital part of India’s cultural heritage. She stressed the importance of continuing to promote and use Hindi in everyday life, especially in the age of technology.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the guests, participants, and attendees. The program was meticulously organized by Dr. Sunil Kumar Saliada and Dr. Geeta Lakhotra, NSS Programme Officer. Faculty members, including Prof. Anju Bala, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bulla, Dr. Vasudha Chaudhari, Prof. Rashmi Arya, Prof. Shrotika Rajput, Dr. Ashma Gupta, and Dr. Kusum, were present at the event, making the occasion even more special.
