JAMMU, SEPT 14: Dr. Rashid Anjum, Associate Professor at the Department of Orthopedics, AIIMS Jammu, has been selected as India’s representative in the prestigious Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) Young Ambassador Program. Dr. Anjum will join fifteen other distinguished young orthopedic surgeons from across the Asia-Pacific region at the 24th APOA Annual Congress, scheduled for 2025 in Cairns, Australia.

Dr. Anjum’s selection is a significant recognition of his excellence in the field of orthopedic surgery and his contributions to medical advancements in the region. The Young Ambassador Program is a highly competitive initiative aimed at identifying future leaders in orthopedics, offering them a platform to engage in international collaborations, showcase their research, and contribute to the development of innovative orthopedic care practices.

The selection process for this year’s ambassadors was particularly challenging, with candidates from across the Asia Pacific competing for the honor. Dr. Anjum’s achievement reflects the growing recognition of India’s orthopedic talent on a global stage.

As part of the Young Ambassador Program, Dr. Anjum will have the opportunity to present his work during the exclusive ‘Young Ambassador Sessions’ at the Congress. He will also engage in high-level discussions with leading surgeons from around the world, participate in hospital visitations across Australia, and attend events such as the President’s Dinner.

The APOA congratulated all selected Young Ambassadors and emphasized their role in shaping the future of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Anjum will receive a certificate of recognition for his achievements and will contribute to fostering a dynamic and inclusive orthopedic community across the region.
