SRINAGAR, SEPT 29: In a significant move aimed at countering terrorism, police in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have attached the immovable property of an individual accused of involvement in terror-related activities.
According to a police statement, the property of Bilal Ahmad Lone, son of Gh Qadir Lone, a resident of Nehama, Pulwama, has been attached under case FIR No. 20/2024. The case is registered under Sections 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 7/27 of the Indian Arms (IA) Act, 3/4 of the Explosive Substances Act, and various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, including Sections 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38, and 39.
The attached property consists of land measuring 16 marlas and a two-storey residential house under Survey No. 1821, which the police have classified as proceeds of terrorism. The accused, Bilal Ahmad Lone, is alleged to have provided shelter to LeT commander Reyaz Ahmad Dar and his associate Rayees Ahmad Dar, both of whom were neutralized during an encounter at Lone’s residence on June 3, 2024.
The police emphasized that the attachment of the property is part of efforts to deter the use of terror finances for personal gain and to dismantle support networks linked to terrorism. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
