SRINAGAR, SEPT 22: In a significant move to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, the government has disengaged the Lumberdar of Pehlipora, Ubaid Ahmed Khan, in the Uri Assembly Constituency for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
According to an official handout from the government, Tehsildar Boniyar took action after confirmed reports surfaced that Ubaid Ahmed Khan had been actively participating in election campaigns for a political party, which is a clear violation of the MCC.
The Model Code of Conduct is enforced to ensure free and fair elections, and any breach of these guidelines is taken seriously by the authorities. The administration remains committed to maintaining transparency and neutrality during the electoral process, the order stated.
