SRINAGAR, OCT 14: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Tariq Hameed Karra visited the revered shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) in Charar-i-Sharief today, offering prayers for the welfare of Jammu & Kashmir. This visit is part of Karra’s long-standing tradition of seeking blessings at the shrine, a practice he has maintained for years.
Speaking to the media after his visit, Karra said, “I come here regularly to pray for the welfare of Jammu & Kashmir. It has always been my practice.” He emphasized the importance of spiritual guidance and its role in his vision for the region’s progress and well-being.
Karra also commented on the anticipated formation of a new government in Jammu & Kashmir following the end of the six-year-long President’s Rule. He expressed optimism about the upcoming political developments, stating, “In the coming days, we will witness the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected representatives.”
During the interaction, Karra took a critical stance against the ongoing actions of the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, particularly its continued issuance of orders despite the presence of newly elected representatives. “I personally disagree with this approach. There is no logic in the administration issuing orders when the people have elected their own representatives. It is the duty of the popular government to make decisions,” Karra remarked, questioning the role of the administration in the face of democratic representation.
When asked about his potential role in the new government, Karra humbly dismissed any speculation about personal ambition, stating, “I see myself with the people.” His statement reflects a focus on public service and a commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
