Samba, August 26: Samba Police has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking, arresting two alleged drug suppliers during a backward-linkage investigation into an NDPS case registered at Police Station Ramgarh.
The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 54/2026, registered at Police Station Ramgarh on August 1, 2026, under Sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act.
In the initial investigation, police had recovered contraband and arrested Vinod Kumar, son of Krishan Singh, a resident of Ambaran in Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district.
As the investigation progressed, police traced the backward linkage of the case and identified two persons allegedly involved in supplying the narcotics.
Acting on the developed information, a police team from Police Station Ramgarh apprehended the two alleged suppliers, identified as Mohd Aquil, son of Dilawar Hussain, and Irfan Sadotra, son of Yaqoob Hussain, both residents of Dhamor Jakh, Vijaypur tehsil, Samba district.
Police said the operation reflects its continued efforts to identify and dismantle the complete drug supply chain by tracing individuals involved at different levels of narcotics trafficking.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
SSP Samba has appealed to the public to actively support the anti-drug campaign by sharing credible information regarding drug trafficking or suspicious activities with the nearest police station. Police assured that the identity of informants would be kept strictly confidential.
