Ramban Police Attaches Vehicle Worth ₹8 Lakh in Bovine Smuggling Case

Jammu, June 11;

In a significant action against bovine smuggling, Ramban Police has attached a vehicle worth approximately ₹8 lakh under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

According to police, the action was taken during the investigation of FIR No. 03/2026, registered at Police Station Dharamkund under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

During the investigation, police found that a vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-3287 had allegedly been purchased using proceeds generated from bovine smuggling activities.

Based on the findings, Police Station Dharamkund obtained attachment orders from the competent court in Ramban. Acting on the court’s directions, the vehicle was formally attached in the presence of the Executive Magistrate First Class (EMIC), Gool.

The attached vehicle belongs to Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz, a resident of Dharam, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban. The estimated value of the vehicle is around ₹8 lakh.

The action was carried out by Inspector Joginder Singh Chib, SHO Police Station Dharamkund, under the supervision of the SDPO Gool and the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Arun Gupta.

Ramban Police stated that it remains committed to taking strict action against bovine smuggling and ensuring that assets acquired through illegal activities are identified, traced, and attached in accordance with the law.
