In a swift and successful operation, the Janipur Police have recovered a high-value e-Rickshaw just hours after it was reported stolen. The recovery, valued at approximately ₹5,00,000, underscores the intensifying crackdown on vehicle theft in the Jammu West sub-division.
The Theft: A Short-Lived Escape
The incident came to light after the owner, Tanvir Kumar, filed a formal complaint at the Janipur Police Station. Kumar had recently purchased the e-Rickshaw and parked it outside his residence in Sector 7, Upper Roop Nagar (Shanti Nagar), near Fortis Lab.

“Theft incidents have considerably decreased in Sub Division City West, particularly in the Janipur area. Our recovery rate remains high compared to other jurisdictions in Jammu, reflecting our commitment to protecting citizens’ property,” a police spokesperson stated.
Further investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the theft.
