JAMMU, OCT 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) conducted a targeted raid on Friday, in the Rajeev Nagar area of Narwal of Jammu, as part of the ongoing Operation Sanjeevani.
As per the Police release, the operation, carried out under the supervision of EMIC Bahu, was led by top officers from the South Zone, including the SP South Jammu and SDPO East, along with the Station House Officers (SHOs) and in-charges of local police posts (PPs) of the area.
The police conducted extensive searches of suspected houses, individuals, and vehicles throughout the locality, aiming to detect and dismantle drug-peddling networks in the Sub Division East. The operation covered the jurisdiction of Bahu Fort Police Station (PP Narwal), an area identified as a hotspot for suspected drug activity.
Following the raid, a formal First Information Report (FIR) was registered under relevant legal provisions, marking the beginning of an in-depth investigation into suspected drug operations in the region. The police affirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related offenses, with further steps planned to intensify monitoring and law enforcement.
As part of the initiative, the police also organized a counseling session for residents and youth in the area, aiming to raise awareness about the perils of drug abuse. The session focused on preventive measures and encouraged community members to collaborate with law enforcement in building a safer, drug-free environment in Jammu.
