Jammu, June 10:

Jammu Police organized a Thana Diwas Programme at Police Station Bus Stand, Jammu, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen police-public relations and address public grievances.

The programme was chaired by Vivek Shekhar, SP City North Jammu, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The interaction witnessed participation from respected citizens, market association representatives, transport unions, traders, hoteliers, social activists and other prominent members of the area.

During the programme, participants raised several issues related to law and order, traffic management, drug abuse, parking facilities, tenant and labourer verification, and other civic concerns. SP City North patiently heard the grievances and suggestions of the public and assured them that the issues would be addressed through coordinated efforts with the concerned departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Shekhar emphasized the importance of community policing and called upon citizens to actively cooperate with the police in maintaining peace, communal harmony and public safety. He also highlighted the need for collective efforts to combat drug abuse, cybercrime and other social challenges.

The officer noted that similar police-public interaction programmes are being conducted across Jammu to enhance public outreach and ensure effective grievance redressal.

The participants appreciated the initiative taken by Jammu Police and expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to directly interact with senior police officers and share their concerns.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming Jammu Police’s commitment towards responsive, transparent and people-friendly policing.
