Jammu, May 30:
On the eve of World No Tobacco Day, IDPS Jammu proudly organized the First OncoAssembly in collaboration with the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India and LBNROH to spread awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and inspire students to become ambassadors of a healthier and tobacco-free future.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of:

The highlight of the assembly was the highly engaging and thought-provoking Debate Competition on the topic:
“Tobacco Ban – The Need of the Hour”
Young debaters showcased exceptional confidence, awareness, and analytical thinking while addressing one of the most pressing public health concerns of our times.

On this occasion, Dr. Deepak Abrol also lead a pledge on the day for leading a life of “No Tobacco”.
Dr. Deepak Abrol informed the gathering that the 1st OncoAssembly is the inaugural event in the series of activities leading up to the much-awaited Oncology Parliament and CRABECON Cancer Convention 2026, which will bring together eminent oncologists, researchers, policymakers, students, and cancer survivors on a common platform. He highlighted that OncoAssembly has been conceived to engage young minds in meaningful discussions on health, leadership, and social responsibility. He also acknowledged the generous support of J&K Bank, which has partnered with and extended its support to the entire Oncology Parliament initiative, including OncoAssembly and CRABECON Cancer Convention, thereby contributing significantly towards cancer awareness, education, and community empowerment in Jammu & Kashmir.
The assembly served as a powerful reminder that the youth of today can lead the change for a healthier tomorrow.
