In a vibrant display of environmental stewardship, Unique International Public School transformed its campus into a hub of “green activism” today to celebrate Earth Day. The event, packed with creative performances and hands-on conservation efforts, was designed to cultivate a deep-seated sense of responsibility in the next generation of leaders.

A Call to Action

The day’s proceedings kicked off with an inspiring address by the School In-charge, Ms. Randeep Kaur. Setting a serious yet hopeful tone, she reminded students that the health of the planet is a shared responsibility, urging them to think of every day as Earth Day.

Creativity Meets Conservation

The school organized a diverse lineup of activities aimed at making environmental awareness both educational and engaging:

  • Artistic Advocacy: Students participated in a Poster Making competition, visualizing the challenges and beauty of the natural world.

  • Performative Learning: The campus came alive with Dance Performances and a Smit (Short Skit) that poignantly illustrated the impact of human activity on the ecosystem.

  • The Power of Speech: Student speakers delivered passionate addresses on the urgency of climate action.

Rooting for the Future: Plantation Drive

Moving beyond theory, the students and staff participated in a Plantation Drive. Saplings were planted across the school premises, serving as a living symbol of the school’s commitment to sustainability and a cleaner, greener Jammu.

Messages from School Leadership

The school’s top administration gathered to motivate the “ambassadors of change”:

  • Vice Principal Mr. Ashok Bhasin provided practical tips, urging students to adopt eco-friendly habits like reducing plastic consumption and conserving water.

  • Administrator Ms. Gagandeep Bedi challenged students to take their mission beyond the school gates and influence their local communities.

  • MD Ms. Nirlep Kour commended the students for their high energy and creative contributions.

  • Chairman S. Jasbir Singh emphasized the power of the collective, stating that while individual steps are important, “collective efforts are essential for a sustainable future.”

The Earth Day Pledge

The celebration reached its climax as the entire student body stood together to take a solemn pledge. With hands raised, they committed to protecting the environment and working tirelessly toward a cleaner, greener Earth.
