Srinagar, March 23:

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, moved to settle public anxiety on Monday, categorically stating that there is no shortage of essential fuels or LPG in the Valley. Amid growing concerns, the administration confirmed that adequate stocks are in place and are being monitored around the clock.

Speaking to the press in Srinagar, Garg emphasized that the supply chain for domestic LPG and petroleum products remains stable despite “dynamic” stock positions.

Fuel & LPG: “No Need to Panic”

The Divisional Commissioner provided a detailed breakdown of the current resource availability to reassure the public:

  • Stock Availability: Domestic LPG stocks are currently sufficient for 10 to 15 days.

  • Petrol & Diesel: Supplies are stable, with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) under strict supervision.

  • Anti-Hoarding Measures: District-level committees have been activated to prevent illegal activities such as hoarding, black marketing, or overpricing.

  • Centralized Monitoring: The Food and Civil Supplies Department is generating daily reports to ensure a seamless distribution network.

“There is no need to believe in rumors or unverified information. The government is committed to ensuring an uninterrupted supply,” Garg stated, urging citizens to rely solely on official communications.

Addressing Delivery Delays

Acknowledging recent complaints regarding LPG delivery lags, the Divisional Commissioner noted that Deputy Commissioners are resolving these on a case-by-case basis. Ground teams have been instructed to prioritize timely home deliveries to prevent public inconvenience.

Safe Return of J&K Students from Iran

Beyond essential supplies, the Divisional Commissioner addressed the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir students currently stranded in Iran.

He assured families that both the Government of India and the Union Territory administration are working in tandem to facilitate their swift and safe return.

  • Dedicated Helplines: Active control rooms are maintaining constant touch with parents.

  • Government Assurance: The Chief Minister’s office is personally monitoring the situation and has assured full support to the affected families.

  • Direct Updates: Every bit of information received from the central government is being shared transparently with the parents.

“Our effort is that all students return safely and at the earliest. We are hopeful for a quick resolution,” Garg added, thanking the parents for their continued cooperation with the administration.
