Jammu, Feb 12:
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu campus buzzed with a different kind of energy today as the institute officially launched its Inter-Staff Sports Championship 2026. In a move to prioritize mental well-being and physical fitness among medical professionals, the institute has organized an extensive series of sports activities involving faculty, administrative officers, and staff.
The Grand Inauguration
The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Sharma, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Jammu. The ceremony began with a high-spirited Ceremonial Tug of War, followed by the opening matches of Badminton and Cricket.
Prof. Sharma, while addressing the gathering, emphasized that such initiatives are vital for fostering “institutional bonding” and reducing the high-stress levels typically associated with the medical profession.
“Our commitment is to holistic development. Physical fitness and teamwork are the backbones of a healthy workforce, and these games are a testament to our spirit of camaraderie,” said Prof. Sharma.
