Jammu, Feb 11:

The Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today observed Samarpan Diwas to commemorate the Punyatithi (death anniversary) of its founding ideologue, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. Programs were organized across all districts of the Union Territory, with senior leadership reaffirming the party’s commitment to the philosophy of Integral Humanism and the mission of Antyodaya.

A Visionary of Value-Based Politics

In New Delhi, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) led the commemorations by paying floral tributes to Upadhyay. Addressing the gathering, Sharma described the late leader as the architect of the BJP’s ideological foundation.

“Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay was not merely a political thinker but a visionary who gave Bharatiya politics a value-based direction. His approach ensures governance is rooted in ethics, nationalism, and social justice,” Sharma stated.

He further emphasized that the party’s commitment to the “last person standing in the queue” is a direct reflection of Upadhyay’s vision, bridging the gap from Panchayat to Parliament.

Antyodaya: The Soul of Governance

Speaking from the party office in Srinagar, Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), highlighted how the concept of Antyodaya—the upliftment of the poorest of the poor—serves as the backbone of the current government’s model.

  • Farmer Welfare: Targeted schemes to ensure rural prosperity.

  • Empowerment: Focus on women, youth, and marginalized sections.

  • Effective Implementation: Koul noted that the Modi-led government has successfully translated these philosophical ideals into practical welfare schemes nationwide.

Commemorations in Jammu

At the BJP Headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh and General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria addressed party workers.

Dr. Singh attributed the BJP’s current political heights to its “unwavering commitment” to Upadhyay’s ideology, while Billawaria reflected on the leader’s life as a “selfless nationalist” who sought service over power.

Key Attendees at Jammu Headquarters:

Bharat Bhushan (J&K BJP Vice-President), Rajiv Charak (J&K BJP Vice-President), Rekha Mahajan ( J&K BJP Vice-President), Gopal Mahajan (General Secretary) and Prem Gupta (Convenor, Aajivan Sahayog Nidhi Dept).

The event was meticulously organized by the Aajivan Sahayog Nidhi Department, emphasizing the party’s tradition of self-sustenance and dedicated service.
