Jammu, Feb 2:
Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today addressed a spirited gathering of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from the Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate following their successful return from the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi. In a ceremony marked by high energy and national pride, the LG lauded the cadets for their stellar performance and outlined a vision where the youth serve as the primary drivers of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
Defining a Developed Nation
LG Sinha emphasized that national progress is not merely about infrastructure or economic statistics but is deeply rooted in the character of its citizens.
“A developed society and nation signifies a place where people possess strong character, where social values stand firm, and where the social fabric remains bound together in unity,” the LG stated.
He further noted that while technology and economy are vital, the “wealth of thought and conduct” created by the youth is the nation’s true identity.
Historic Achievements at Kartavya Path
This year’s contingent of 128 cadets from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh secured unprecedented honors at the national level, reflecting the rapid transformation of the Directorate.
Major Individual Honors:

Raksha Mantri Padak: Conferred upon SUO Arpundeep Kour (3 J&K Bn NCC, Baramulla) for her exceptional leadership during Op SINDOOR, where she coordinated relief for border villagers.

COAS Commendation: Awarded to Lieutenant Ruksana Kousar for her dedication to duty.

Parade Commander: In a historic first, Cadet Tawheed Altaf (7 J&K Bn NCC, Baramulla) was appointed Parade Commander of the All India NCC Boys Contingent.

Prime Minister’s Rally: Cadet Samriti Kalhuria (8 J&K Bn NCC) had the rare distinction of serving as the pilot to the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Directorate Excellence:
The J&K and Ladakh Directorate was awarded the “Director General’s Most Improved Directorate Award,” having secured 11 DG NCC Medallions and Commendation Cards.
A Call for Unity and Self-Development
The Lieutenant Governor asked the cadets to be the ambassadors of brotherhood, specifically urging them to “eliminate walls of region, language, caste, and religion” through their collective work.
