Jammu, January 19:
Tensions flared in Jammu today as Shiv Sena activists, led by State Chief Manish Sahni, organized a high-octane protest targeting the governments of Pakistan and Bangladesh. The demonstrators burned national flags and raised slogans demanding a decisive military strike to protect Hindu minorities and secure India’s borders.
Key Demands: “Capture Munir, Subjugate Bangladesh”
The protesters expressed deep outrage over the reported surge in violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. According to Sahni, 17 Hindus have been killed in the last 45 days, including two brutal murders as recently as January 17.
-
Action on Bangladesh: The group called for the Indian government to take direct control of Bangladesh to prevent it from becoming a “puppet” of Pakistan.
-
Targeting Pakistan’s Leadership: A central demand was the capture of Pakistan’s military leadership, specifically General Asim Munir, to be brought to India as a prisoner.
-
PoK Integration: Protesters carried placards with the slogan “First Bangladesh, then PoK,” signaling a demand for the total integration of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Concerns Over ‘Islamic NATO’ and Border Security
The Shiv Sena leadership warned of a brewing conspiracy involving the formation of an “Islamic NATO”—a proposed defense pact between Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. Sahni alleged this alliance is a facade for a “Terrorist NATO” designed to coordinate nefarious activities against India.
Current Security Flashpoints:
-
Ongoing Kishtwar Encounter: The protest comes amid a fierce ongoing encounter in the forests of Kishtwar district. Reports confirm that 8 Indian soldiers have been injured in the gunfight, which began Sunday afternoon.
-
Drone Intrusions: Authorities have noted a sharp increase in drone activity along the International Border, with over 7 incidents reported in January 2026 alone. Large caches of weapons have recently been recovered near the border.
-
Operation Sindoor Legacy: Protesters noted that despite the damage inflicted during Operation Sindoor (launched May 2025), terrorist hideouts are being reactivated under the guidance of the Pakistani military establishment.
UT leaders including Vikas Bakshi, Balwant Singh, and Raj Singh joined dozens of activists in the heart of Jammu, urging the Modi government to authorize the armed forces to strike “terrorist leaders hiding in Pakistan” and dismantle the emerging regional threats.
