While paying homage and tribute to Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, state chief of Shiv Sena, Manish Sahni said that the draft committee formed under the chairmanship of Baba Saheb, after 2 years 11 months and 18 days of hard work, broke the shackles of British laws on this day in 1949 and made its own constitution and established the sovereignty of India. Which was implemented on 26 January 1950.
Sahni demanded that central government should return the statehood and give special status to Jammu and Kashmir in the winter session, so that the land, resources and jobs should be secured, as per Article 371 of the Constitution, on the lines of the Northeast and Himachal Pradesh.
Sahni said that this will also put a full stop to the demand for Article 370 and the ongoing politics.
