KISHTWAR, NOV 25: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar, Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS, convened an introductory meeting with prominent members of the community and transport union representatives at the District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar. The meeting aimed to foster coordination and address pressing concerns related to public welfare and the transportation sector in the district.
During the interaction, discussions centered around vital issues such as traffic management, transport service regulation, and public safety. The transport operators highlighted challenges in their operations and proposed measures to enhance transportation efficiency while adhering to legal and safety norms.
SSP Kishtwar raised serious concerns regarding reckless bike stunts by “road Romeos,” the growing menace of drug abuse, illegal liquor sales, and persistent traffic congestion in the town. He assured strict action against offenders and called for the collective efforts of all stakeholders to curb these problems effectively.
Addressing the attendees, SSP Kishtwar acknowledged the pivotal role of transport unions in maintaining order on roads and providing essential services to the public. “Your cooperation is essential in enforcing traffic regulations, preventing overloading, and promoting road safety,” he emphasized.
The SSP further urged participants to share constructive suggestions for improving transport facilities and pledged timely action to address their concerns. He reiterated the commitment of J&K Police to ensuring law and order while fostering a secure environment for both residents and travelers.
