JAMMU, NOV 24: The team of Nowabad Police Station of JKP on Sunday arrested a 52-year-old man accused in a sexual assault case from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
As per the release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the accused, identified as Sushil Kumar, son of Jagdish Kumar and a resident of Mohalla Shiv Nagar, Gurdaspur, was apprehended following a series of coordinated efforts by the police.
The case dates back to 8 July 2024, when a complaint was lodged at Nowabad Police Station, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 376-D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Prompt action was initiated under the leadership of PSI Tariq Aziz, with the investigation supervised by the SHO Nowabad and DySP Headquarters Jammu.
To locate and arrest the accused, the police formed multiple teams and conducted raids at various locations. After relentless efforts, the team led by PSI Tariq Aziz successfully tracked the accused to Gurdaspur and apprehended him.
A senior official from Nowabad Police Station highlighted the team’s dedication, stating, “The operation was executed with precision and professionalism under the close supervision of SHO Nowabad, the guidance of DySP Headquarters Jammu, and the dynamic leadership of SP City North.”
sThe accused is now in custody, and the investigation is underway to gather further evidence and ensure swift legal proceedings.
