JAMMU, NOV 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Saturday apprehended an accused wanted in a sexual assault case from Uttar Pradesh (UO) after an extensive manhunt. The accused, identified as Mohd Ali, son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Paizaniya, District Bijnor, was arrested from Kukra in District Lakhimpur Kheri.
As per release issued to The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the case originated on October 31, 2024, when a complaint was lodged at the Pacca Danga Police Station, leading to the registration of an FIR under Sections 376 and 427 of the IPC. Acting promptly, the Station House Officer (SHO) launched a comprehensive investigation under the supervision of SDPO City North.
During the investigation, multiple police teams were constituted to track and apprehend the accused. Raids were conducted at various locations, and after relentless efforts, a team led by PSI Basharat Hussain succeeded in capturing the accused.
The operation was conducted under the close supervision of SDPO City North and the guidance of SP City North. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
