JAMMU, SEPT 27: Senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, who previously contested as a rebel candidate in the Assembly elections, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. The announcement was made during a press conference attended by BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with Tarun Chugh, the party’s national general secretary and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir, and Arun Gupta, BJP spokesperson and media center in-charge.

Chander Mohan Sharma described his return to the BJP as a “homecoming,” emphasizing his commitment to the party’s vision. JP Nadda welcomed him warmly, stating that the BJP is open to anyone willing to serve the country.

Tarun Chugh noted that Sharma’s decision to withdraw his candidacy and rejoin the BJP is a positive development for the party. He highlighted the desire of many to align themselves with the transformative achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming to foster peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
