Tarun Chugh

JAMMU, SEPT 26: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday stated that the high voter turnout in the first two phases of elections in Jammu and Kashmir signals the BJP’s likely victory in the region. He said that the people have rejected forces supporting terrorism and separatism.

Speaking at a press conference in Jammu, Chugh, accompanied by BJP spokesperson Advocate Sunil Sethi, spokespersons Abhijeet Jasrotia, Arun Gupta, Vineet Joshi, and Media In-Charge Dr. Pradeep Mahotra attributed the turnout increase to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and campaign efforts. “Earlier, voter turnout was as low as four to eight percent, but now it has risen to sixty percent,” Chugh noted, calling it a “victory for democracy.”

He criticized family-based politics in J&K, declaring that such an era is ending. Chugh also accused Omar Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi of misleading the public, and blamed the National Conference and Congress for the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits during Farooq Abdullah’s tenure.

Chugh emphasized that the BJP has taken strict action against terrorism and rejected the National Conference’s proposal to release terrorists. He promised that J&K’s statehood will be restored under Modi’s leadership.

Describing the Congress-NC alliance as an “expired injection,” Chugh also dismissed Rahul Gandhi as merely a “reader” delivering speeches written by others.
