JAMMU, SEPT 18: All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Sachin Pilot criticized the BJP on Wednesday for promoting “pseudo-nationalism” to mislead the public, asserting that the Congress party requires no certificate on patriotism. Addressing a press conference in Jammu after public meetings in support of Congress candidates, Pilot accused the BJP of being exposed for its anti-people policies.

“The BJP’s pseudo-nationalism will not deceive the people of the country,” Pilot said, emphasizing Congress’s history of sacrifices and commitment to the nation’s well-being. He was joined by AICC In-charge for J&K Bharat Sinh Solanki and other party leaders.

Pilot reaffirmed Congress’s alliance with the National Conference, aiming to provide a strong alternative to the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, and criticized the BJP’s diminishing presence, particularly in the Kashmir Valley.

He also reiterated Congress’s commitment to restoring full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, while denouncing the BJP-led government’s policies, including its push for “One Nation, One Election,” which he labeled as undemocratic.

Pilot commended the Supreme Court’s role in ensuring the conduct of assembly elections in J&K and praised the high voter turnout in the first phase of elections as a sign of public desire for change.

Pilot expressed confidence in Congress’s prospects, asserting that Rahul Gandhi’s leadership is shaping the future narrative of India and called for an apology from the BJP for provocative statements made against Gandhi. He warned the public against the BJP’s divisive tactics in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in creating divisions between ethnic groups.
