BANDIPORA, SEPT 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have arrested three individuals, including a woman, after uncovering a prostitution racket in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir on Wednesday. The operation also led to the rescue of two minor girls from the clutches of the traffickers.
Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, a police team from the Ajas Police Post conducted a raid at a house in Saderkoot Bala. The raid exposed a trafficking and exploitation ring operating in the area, with a local resident being identified as the key figure behind the racket.
According to officials, the investigation has revealed that the arrested individuals were involved in trafficking minor girls for immoral purposes. The victims were rescued and are currently under protection, while further inquiries are being conducted.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 161/2024 under Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Trafficking Act. The police have stated that the investigation is ongoing to unearth further details and identify any additional individuals involved in the operation
