Jammu, Jan 22:
A pall of gloom descended over the Union Territory on Thursday as ten Indian Army personnel lost their lives in a devastating road accident in the Doda district. The incident occurred near Khanni Top, along the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road, when a bulletproof military vehicle skidded off the treacherous mountain path and plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge.
In addition to the ten martyrs, eleven other soldiers were injured in the mishap. A joint rescue operation by the Army and local police was immediately launched, and the injured personnel have been airlifted to the Military Hospital in Udhampur for specialized treatment.

The accident took place around noon at an altitude of approximately 9,000 feet. The vehicle was reportedly part of an operational movement heading toward a high-altitude post.
