JAMMU, OCT 25: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Jammu on Friday issued an official order suspending Sandeep Kumar, a Grade II teacher at Government High School (GHS) Chattha Gujjran, Zone Marh, Jammu, following his arrest.
As per the order, the copy of which lies with The Newsroom 24 – Awaz, the teacher has been apprehended by Kanha Chak Police Station for his alleged involvement in an FIR No. 0168 registered on October 24, 2024, under sections 9, 10, and 75 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
The suspension order was issued after information was received from the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Marh and the Headmaster of GHS Chattha Gujjran, highlighting the teacher’s involvement in the case. The suspension is effective from the date of his arrest, October 24, 2024.
The case is currently under investigation, and further action will be determined based on the findings.
