New Delhi, Feb 26:
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended two additional terror operatives allegedly linked to the devastating bomb blast in the Delhi Red Fort area, bringing the total number of arrests in the high-profile case to 11.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Zameer Ahmad Ahangar of Ganderbal and Tufail Ahmad Bhat of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. According to NIA investigations, the duo served as active Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) terror outfit.
Key Details of the Investigation
The NIA’s probe into the conspiracy (RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI) revealed critical roles played by the newly arrested operatives:
-
Weapon Supply: Investigations found that Zameer and Tufail supplied the weapons used by the prime accused in the Delhi blast.
-
Terror Network: Beyond the Red Fort incident, the duo was involved in multiple terror conspiracies and the collection of arms and ammunition intended for use against the Indian State.
-
Inter-Agency Coordination: The arrests were the result of extensive coordination between the NIA, J&K Police, Haryana Police, and other security agencies.
Background: The November 10 Tragedy
The blast, which occurred on November 10, 2025, shook the national capital, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and leaving several others injured. The suspected mastermind and prime accused, Umer Un Nabi, was also killed in the explosion.
The Conspirators
The NIA has identified a broader network behind the attack. The conspiracy was allegedly masterminded by Umer Un Nabi along with several other accused individuals: Muzammil Ganai, Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan and Adeel Ahmed Rather.
Prior to the arrest of Zameer and Tufail, nine other suspects had been taken into custody from various locations across Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana for providing shelter and logistical support to the main conspirators.
The NIA continues its investigation to unveil the complete extent of the conspiracy and ensure all involved in the “dastardly terror act” are brought to justice.
